The blend for this delicious GSM from the Barossa valley is 70% Grenache and 15% each for the Shiraz and the Mataro. Deep vibrant magenta/garnet in colour, at this early stage, the wine gives us lashings of toasty oak. Time should see integration and a more complete wine. The nose also reveals notes of plums, vanilla, dry herbs, smoked meats, blackberries, licorice and chocolate. A supple style with a soft finish and sleek tannins, the wine is of medium length and will provide pleasure for the next six to ten years. That said, it would not hurt to give it a year or two in the cellar before opening and also a little time in a decanter. 92/100 Ken Gargett
