About Us
Barossa Valley Winemaking
Cooper Burns is a joint venture of Mark Cooper & Russell Burns, passionately creating exotic handcrafted wines from Barossa Valley with individuality and character. Every single bottle expresses the fruits of our labour combined with vintage characteristics that make it unique; we aspire to create exceptional wines full of depth, soul and personality!
Our wines are made from grapes grown predominantly in the northern Barossa Valley. We take great care in selecting vineyards that offer incredible fruit quality and a unique expression of terroir. The vineyard blocks we work with are kept small, allowing us to manage them carefully and ensure that the best possible results are achieved with each vintage.
All Cooper Burns wines are crafted using traditional winemaking techniques and minimal intervention. Minimal preservatives are used and if fining is necessary it is vegan friendly, instead relying on careful attention to detail throughout the winemaking process to deliver balanced, complex and elegant wines.
We also pay close attention to sustainability when making our wines, ensuring that energy is conserved where possible, reuse and recycling of materials are practised and that our processes have as little negative impact on the environment as possible.
We firmly believe that great wines come from good vineyards and healthy soils, so we are passionate about preserving and enhancing the unique character of each site with the utmost respect for nature. This commitment to quality shines through in every bottle of Cooper Burns wine, offering an authentic expression of place and time.
At Cooper Burns, we love nothing more than getting out into the vineyards with our friends and family to pick grapes, taste fruit off the vines or take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this incredible region. It is here where we gain inspiration for our winemaking decisions and a greater understanding of what it takes to make great wines.
We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we enjoyed making them. Cheers!
